One of the most anticipated matches of WWE Payback was the Women’s World Championship title. Rhea Ripley was set to go off against Raquel Rodriguez.

During the clash, Dominik Mysterio interfered and distracted Rodriguez making her lose the match and Ripley emerged victorious. However, in the post-event interview, Rodriguez stated it was not over for Dirty Dom and that she would be coming back for her revenge.

After the match was over, Rodriguez was seen being interviewed by Byron Saxton. Saxton said that the wrestling star has to be the biggest physical threat Ripley has ever faced. He went on to ask how she felt about Mysterio causing her the match. “I am angry. I am really, really angry. Tonight was supposed to be my night,” she said, stating that her mind was focused on defeating Ripley.

The match seemed to have especially been a sore spot for Rodriguez, as it was dedicated to her tag team partner, Liv Morgan. Morgan has been out of commission ever since Ripley injured her during a July 24 RAW Match. When Saxton brought this up, Rodriguez was quick to respond by threatening both Dom and Ripley. “It is but all I have to say is that it’s not over and this is for Liv, this is for me and it’s not over. Tonight was just a little taste, Dom will get his, even if I have to give it to him. And Rhea? She’s going to get hers too,” she said, emphasizing that the rivalry would be going to another level following the match.

Fans of Rodriguez seem to be disappointed to see her lose against Ripley. But could this new twist in rivalry mean an opportunity for a new angle that fans aren’t expecting?

Raquel Rodriguez has become a familiar face at WWE since her debut in 2017. She had her shot at the title but unfortunately missed due to Mysterio’s intervention. But that doesn’t mean it’s over for her. There are still plenty of opportunities. With the rising tensions between Finn Balor and Damian Priest, the Judgment Day faction has been going through a rough patch. It might be possible that the faction might face a fallout in the coming days.

It might also be possible that either Finn Balor or Damian Priest could join hands together with Rodriguez to fight against Ripley and Dominik Mysterio. After all, her interview makes it clear that she is still after the title and now after Dominik Mysterio as well. Once the dust of Payback settles, fans might get to see what will happen next.
