WWE Raw Recap & Results (December 11, 2023): CM Punk Signs With WWE RAW, Seth Rollins Issues Major Warning, Latest Royal Rumble 2024 Entrant Announced, and More

Last week fans witnessed many exciting moments during Monday Night Raw. Drew McIntyre came one step closer in exacting vengeance upon those who have wronged him after defeating Sami Zayn. Shinsuke Nakamura announced that he would be the one who would end Cody Rhodes’ story and much more. This week fans witnessed the aftermath of these events. This week, McIntyre faced the Main Event star Jey Uso, Cody Rhodes faced Shinsuke Nakamura, and CM Punk chose his new home on his second stint. Here’s a rundown of this week’s WWE Raw.

Jey Uso vs Drew McIntyre

This week’s episode kicked off with a match between Jey Uso and Drew McIntyre. Last week after the fight between Jey Uso and Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship title, McIntyre attacked the two and stated that he will go against Uso this week. The crowd cheered loudly as Uso walked towards the ring to open the show and address the crowd in attendance. He shared how excited he would be if CM Punk joined Raw. Just when the crowd was getting hyped up listening to Uso’s monologue, McIntyre entered the stage. After some back and forth, and some comments on CM Punk by McIntyre, the fight started.

While McIntyre used his brute force, Uso tried to counter it with his wits by dodging him at the right moments. However, it was not enough to score a win against the new McIntyre.

Winner: Drew McIntyre

A pre-recorded promo featuring Shinsuke Nakamura was showcased. The promo was in Japanese incorporating Japanese-styled animations showing Nakamura calling out to Rhodes and telling him that Nakamura is the true nightmare and Rhodes will face this nightmare soon.

Backstage segment: A backstage segment featuring the Judgment Day showed the growing tensions between the faction. Ripley called out Priest’s leadership skills following the events of Survivor Series and the previous week’s episode of Raw. The Eradicator also reminded Priest that they should not forget that they are the ones who run Raw.

Maxxine Dupri vs Rhea Ripley

The two stars entered the ring and there was no banter before the match. All it took was a slap by Dupri to make Ripley angry. She then unleashed her full wrath on her. Dupri used her small size to her advantage but could not go that far with it. The match ended in decisive fashion when Dupri tapped out. This happened to be one of the shortest fights of the evening.

Winner: Rhea Ripley

Following the bell, Ivy Nile who is an ally of the Alpha Academy along with her brothers, stepped into the ring. She stared directly into the eyes of Rhea Ripley, and Ripley taunted her before leaving the ring.

Backstage Segment: A nervous Adam Pearce, who happens to be Raw’s General Manager, was seen with a contract in his hand walking the hallway. He then knocked on the door of CM Punk’s vanity room, asking for permission to enter. Pearce entered the room, possibly outlining a better deal with Punk so that he would sign with Raw.

Adam Pearce has a pitch for CM Punk

Adam Pearce was seen in the ring where he addressed the crowd and said that it was time for him to pitch his deal to CM Punk. He then called CM Punk in the ring so that he could pitch the contract. As soon as he entered the ring, Punk appreciated the love fans had been showering on him. The Second City Saint shifted his focus to the deals that had been proposed to him by all the General Managers. He then said that he would be signing with Raw and signed the deal with the words, “CM Punk is home.” But things quickly took a U-turn when Visionary started playing. As the fans hummed to the music, Seth Rollins walked into the ring. The two stared at each other for a while, making Pearce concerned.

Rollins then grabbed the mic and greeted the fans present. He then welcomed CM Punk on Raw and said he should know how incredibly fortunate he is. But the words “Don’t you dare call this place your home” shocked the fans. He then called out to Punk, saying that he had “actively tried to tear down this place” and shouldn’t call Raw his home. After some back and forth, CM Punk announced that he will be a part of the upcoming 2024 Royal Rumble and when he wins, he might come after Seth Rollins.

Bronson Reed vs Ivar

The two beasts battled it out on tonight’s Raw. This happened to be an important match to possibly secure a spot in the future to face Gunther for the Intercontinental Championship title. The brutes showed no mercy and even fought outside the ring. After a tough battle, Reed secured the win after slamming Ivor and pinning him.

Winner: Bronson Reed

Judgement Day enters the scene

The men of the Judgment Day made their way to the ring where they addressed the audience. Just when Priest declared that all the stars were put on notice, R-Truth made his way to the ring. Priest invited the WWE veteran who was seen with holiday season decorations throughout the episode into the ring. Truth who dropped some hard ‘truth’ bombs on the faction was then ambushed by the men. To help Truth out, The Creed Brothers came in. After a bit of a struggle, they were able to fend off the heel faction.

Katana Chance and Kayden Carter vs Candice LeRae and Indi Heartwell

The two tag teams faced off against each other for a title shot against Piper Nivan and Chelsea Green. After some quick moves, Katana Chance pinned Candice LeRae securing the win.

Winner: Katana Chance and Kayden Carter

Becky Lynch has some unfinished business

The Man entered the ring to talk about her relationship with Nia Jax. She addressed that even though they never faced each other, there was always tension between them. Just as Lynch was talking about her, Jax entered the ring to have a word with her. After some back and forth, Lynch challenged her to a fight on the spot. However, Jax refused the challenge and walked away.

The Six-Man tag team match

The Imperium faced off against The DIY and their surprise tag team partner, The Miz. The Imperium tried to prove their dominance by gaining some cheap shots over the DIY and The Miz. However, The Miz was in luck as he pinned Vinci to gain the victory.

Shinsuke Nakamura vs Cody Rhodes

The much-awaited main event of the night finally came. Nakamura had been teasing his mystery rival for weeks. A couple of weeks ago, it was revealed that it was Cody Rhodes after he ambushed him with his Red Mist. The American Nightmare finally confronted Nakamura, who wanted to end Rhodes’ story. However, things didn’t go as planned for the Japanese star. After exchanging punches and blows, it took a couple of Cody Cutters for Rhodes to pin Nakamura to secure the win. The show ended with Rhodes celebrating his victory as the fans cheered on. What was your favorite moment from tonight’s episode of WWE Raw?

For me pro wrestling has two things that I like the most, storytelling and fighting. Let?s just say movies are failing to keep me entertained in those departments. I grew up watching WWF and not WWE and any hardcore fan will agree that the two are not the same, but I love both iterations.
