WrestleMania 1 was the first time WWE decided to use a theme song for its shows. While some were just musical hits, the songs used by WWE have always reflected the era and the storyline that was currently being shown to the fans. From rock to metal, hip-hop to pop, fans have witnessed it all in the last 40 years. It has been announced by WWE that The Weeknd’s Gasolina will feature as the official theme song for the 40th anniversary. With that being said, here is a list of the most iconic theme songs and the artists behind them.

While WWE has used almost 39 songs to date (and 40 if we count 40s theme), there have been few that fans have considered iconic. Here in the list, we will first have a look at the theme songs that fans still hum to this day.

  • “My Way” by Limp Bizkit – WrestleMania X-7: This iconic song is considered the GOAT theme by fans, especially with The Rock vs Stone Cold Steve Austin main eventing.

  • “I Made it” by Kevin Rudolf – WrestleMania XXVI – Fans call it the one that describes what the stars might be feeling, which is especially true, with John Cena, Batista, The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels all main eventing.

  • “Crack Addict” by Limp Bizkit – WrestleMania XIX – Another banger by the rock band that fans believe is the best.

  • “Light it up” by Rev Theory – WrestleMania XXIV – The rock band that provided Randy Orton’s theme song Voices gave fans another WWE song that they can listen to while working out in the gym.

  • “Written in the Stars Up” by Tinie Tempah – WrestleMania XXVII – Considered one of the best songs for the PLE, it has found its way to memes on social media.

  • “Invincible” by MGK & “Coming Home” by Diddy ft. Skylar Grey – WrestleMania XXVIII – The 28th edition featured the big showdown between The Rock and John Cena. Therefore, WWE decided to use two different theme songs for both stars.

For me pro wrestling has two things that I like the most, storytelling and fighting. Let?s just say movies are failing to keep me entertained in those departments. I grew up watching WWF and not WWE and any hardcore fan will agree that the two are not the same, but I love both iterations.
