Is XFL’s TV Rights Deal with Disney a Hint at Dwayne Johnson Replacing Will Smith in Aladdin 2?

Dwayne Johnson is embarking on one more career establishment in the American football league XFL. He purchased the company from his former boss Vince McMahon in August 2020 and made it a mission to launch it successfully.

Dwayne Johnson is the owner and the co-owner is Dany Garcia. Both owners are paving more options to make the league available to watch for everyone. Recently, they made a deal with Disney and ESPN for the TV rights of all 2023–2027 game day content. The XFL Twitter shared the news on their official Twitter page.

The spring football league is set to begin to play in 2023. Also, with a third try to set this league on a big stage, they’ve Disney and ESPN as partner TV deals. However, this new deal between Disney and XFL has pointed toward the rumors of Johnson replacing Will Smith in Aladdin.

A few days back, a rumor popped up in Hollywood about Dwayne Johnson replacing Will Smith for the role of Genie in the Aladdin sequel. Moreover, it is also reported that Disney already started talks with Johnson over an undisclosed major movie project. Looking at the collection of the first part of Aladdin, the sequel seems to be a major movie project.

Johnson’s new XFL deal with Disney seems to be a major hint that both the parties have been doing major discussions apart from the football league. There are many claims happening right now that point towards Johnson as the next Genie in Aladdin.

Garcia shed some light on this new deal saying, “We have entered into an exclusive multi-year deal with our partners, the Walt Disney Company, to produce and distribute all of our games.”

When will the XFL start?

The XFL will have its third chance on the national stage. Vince McMahon ran the previous two seasons, with the first one in 2001. He revived the league in 2020, but it was closed later due to the pandemic situation.

Dwayne Johnson and Dany Garcia purchased the league from Mr. McMahon and are eager to re-establish XFL on a bigger scale. The league is going to kick off in February 2023 as per the announcement by Johnson.

The new owners are eager for the launch of the league with new motivation next year. Johnson, whose first love was football, will try his best to get XFL on the top level in the United States.
