Athletes usually look up to sponsorship from companies for extra recognition and finance. This advertises the company and strengthens the bond between the said company and the sports promotions. However, the Ultimate Fighting Championship does not permit athlete sponsorship during the official events of UFC fight week. Many personalities have beefed with Dana White for not allowing the fighters to receive sponsorship benefits.
In a recent episode of the JRE, Joe Rogan, Ari Shaffir, Mark Normand, and Shane Gillis stumbled upon the athlete sponsorships received by other sports. However, the beloved UFC color commentator was quick to reveal that such things are contained in the UFC. Without a doubt, the problems with athlete sponsorship and fighter payments deeply saddened the famed podcaster.
When such scenarios arise, Rogan can always be found siding with the athletes. Previously, with the Reebok fiasco, the 55-year-old commentator stood beside the fighters and demanded justice for them.
