Fernando Alonso’s remarkable career is just a few laps away (while at the time of writing this article). He’s been in Formula One since 2001, taking two drivers championship and achieving a host of other success.

His time at McLaren has been nothing short of frustrating. He’s not managed a single podium or even a consolation prize for the sake of it. In his last grand prix, he was out of the points, in 11th place, when his engineer asked him to push for that extra one point.
