As the 28-year-old tennis player himself has been away from the professional circuit for more than a year now, he often shares past tennis memories on his social media accounts, drawing on his connection with the sport. Recently, he took to his Instagram account to share a 6-year-old video in which he was seen playing against the former world number-one-ranked tennis player.

Kyrgios shared a video that was posted by a Federer fan from the 2017 Laver Cup, where he scored a match point against the 2022 Wimbledon finalist. Along with that, he wrote, “had a match point, this one hurt.”

Kyrgios talks about how Federer ‘puts the pressure right back on you’

Back in 2019, in an interview with Channel 9, the 2022 Wimbledon finalist talked about how Roger Federer makes his opponents uncomfortable with his game plan. He stated, “He puts the pressure right back on you. He shrinks the court, so you feel like you can’t play. It never looks like Federer is fazed. Even if he hits a double fault, he always looks so relaxed.”

Along with that, Kyrgios also highlighted that the former world number one is quite creative and doesn’t even have to hit a conventional volley to confuse his opponent. Interestingly, referring to Federer as a surgeon on the court, Kyrgios also talked about how there is an unknown factor about Federer that comes to light when he is on the court.
