Nick Kyrgios Wants to Have a Boxing Match Against Tennis Players, Asks for Suggestions

A lot of tennis stars play the sport to win tournaments and to go high in the rankings. But, Australian tennis player Nick Kyrgios is an exception to this. The highly-talented sportsperson has always been an entertainer whenever he steps on-court. Despite winning or losing, on his day, Kyrgios has proved that he can beat top players on the ATP tour.

The Aussie, who was supposed to play his second event of this year at Mallorca Championships, decided to pull out of the event due to neck injury. Kyrgios was supposed to the Stuttgart Open as well.

Ever since the pandemic created havoc on the ATP tour, the Australian decided to take a break from tennis and returned to play the Australian Open this year. On his home-soil, Kyrgios managed to entertain the crowd with two block-buster matches against Ugo Humbert and Dominic Thiem.

Nick Kyrgios throws a fun challenge to fans on Twitter

While it’s evident that fans will be seeing him on a tennis court only at Wimbledon this year, the former top-20 player has been an active participant on social media and frequently shares photos/thoughts on what’s happening with his life.

With Kyrgios being a straight-forward person, a lot of his thoughts and tweets became controversial and a matter of discussion amongst tennis fans. Couple of hours ago, the Aussie star shared a tweet asking fans to choose a player on the ATP tour for Kyrgios to have a boxing match with.

Idea….Kyrgios vs which tennis player….boxing match?” Kyrgios tweeted.

As expected, fans had a gala time picking ATP stars to have a fight against Kyrgios. Comments included players like Stan Wawrinka, Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, Dan Evans, etc.

Renowned tennis coach Sascha Bajin also responded to Kyrgios’s tweet.

I’m soo in if coaches count”, responded Sascha.

A few fans also advised Kyrgios to focus on tennis for the upcoming Wimbledon Championships. Both on and off court, the Aussie is one character that never shies away from expressing himself.

Coming back to tennis, it’s a well known fact that the Aussie likes grass courts more than any other surface. Even though Nick Kyrgios has a high chance of success at SW19, lack of match practice will be a true test for him in the initial rounds.
