Novak Djokovic has been one of few players in tennis history who is known for reaching new milestones every now and then. In his career till now, the Serbian has created records that still remain untouched. Recently, the former World No. 1 reached another milestone. However, this time, not on-court.

Djokovic’s children-focused initiative, the Novak Djokovic Foundation, yesterday announced the opening of its 50th pre-school. The landmark pr-school has been opened in the Veliki Popovic, in the municipality of Despotovac. As per the Novak Djokovic Foundation, the total cost of the project stands out at Euro 81,167.883. Out of which, Euro 55,245.607 has been put in by the Foundation, along with its partners.
The formal opening of the pre-school was attended by the National Director of the Foundation Maja Kremic, the Director of the Preschool Institution Verica Stojkovic, the President of the Municipality of Despotovac Nikola Nikolic, and the Deputy President of the Municipality of Despotovac Nenad Jovanovic, and the accomplices.
Celebrating the milestone
Delighted by the milestone, Novak Djokovic Foundation took their official Twitter handle, making the announcement. They wrote, “We Opened Our Landmark 50th Preschool! Today is a great day for our Foundation because we have opened the 50th preschool for the growth and development of the youngest ones.”

Being a worn-torn country, Serbia is far behind other countries in terms of preschool education. Realizing the problem of lack of education, Djokovic started the Novak Djokovic Foundation in 2007. Having an aim to empower children from the underprivileged section of the community, to grow up, play and develop in a natural environment, Nole has been working with complete dedication towards the foundation.

Even though the foundation is mainly headed by Novak’s wife Jelena Djokovic, Novak didn’t shy away from celebrating the milestone. Expressing his excitement for the 50th pre-school, Djokovic also took to his Twitter, putting up a tweet. The tweet by Djokovic was a retweet of the Foundation’s tweet. In the tweet, Djokovic wrote, “The Novak foundation’s 50th preschool! I’m so proud of our team Jelena Djokovic.”

On the tennis front, Novak Djokovic has been having a shaky 2022 season. Citing his vaccination status, Djokovic was first deported from Australia, following which, he failed to defend his Australian Open crown. Being pulled out of the Australian Open, Djokovic kicked off his season in Dubai. However, he lost to Jiri Vesely in the quarterfinals.

Looking to make a comeback on the hardcourt, Djokovic was next placed in the draw of Indian Wells. However, following his vaccination stand, he was restricted from entering the USA. He is now scheduled to play at the ATP Masters 1000 Monte Carlo.
