Rafael Nadal Labels French Open 2020 Win As an ‘Unexpected Victory’

Fans are quite disappointed to know that Rafael Nadal will not play at the Miami Open 2021. The Spaniard caught an injury and is not ready to compete in Miami. However, admirers will expect him to recover as soon as possible and be fully fit for the upcoming clay-court season.
Rafael Nadal will hopefully make a return before the start of the French Open 2021. He’ll like to play a few tournaments before that in order to gain his momentum for the Roland Garros 2021. His unprecedented records on clay are surely a model to behold for other tennis players. Interestingly, his favorite memory in tennis so far is also about a campaign that he led on clay in Paris.
In a recent interview, Rafa revealed that his fondest moment in tennis was his triumph at the French Open 2020. He admitted that the slow conditions didn’t favor him last year, but he still found a way to win the major.

“Well, my best memory is Roland Garros 2020. I enjoyed an amazing tournament. An unexpected victory in my opinion because the conditions haven’t been the perfect ones for me,” said Nadal in the interview.
Surprisingly, the Spaniard claimed that the victory was a bit unexpected for him. The conditions were definitely challenging for him, but he proved why experts and fans call him ‘The King of Clay’.

To their astonishment, the 20-time Grand Slam champion didn’t just win the title but thrashed everyone. Nadal didn’t lose a single set in the tournament and went on to lift his 13th French Open title.
