Rafael Nadal is regarded as one of the greatest tennis players in the history of the sport. The Spaniard won his 90th title at the Australian Open 2022. Another addition to his long list of accolades came recently, as he finished second in a tournament. However, the event wasn’t in tennis; it was instead a golf tournament.
Rafael Nadal finished second in the Balearic Mid-Amateur Golf Championship held over the weekend at the Alcanada Golf Club in Spain.

Runner-up trophy for Nadal at Golf tournament
Nadal has been a vivid golf follower for a long time. The Former World No. 1 has often been spotted attending golf tournaments when not playing tennis. It’s not just a hobby either, as the Spaniard has recorded some respectable positions in the past as well.
Interestingly, the southpaw in tennis has a right-handed swing in golf, which is just as effective as his lefty forehand.

Showing the same competitive spirit as tennis, Nadal left no stone unturned to sign 151 shots (7 over the par). However, his glittering run was overshadowed by Federico Paez, who signed 151 shots (-5 under the par).

Rafael Nadal is on a dream run in the 2022 season. After recovering from his foot injury, Nadal started his new season at the ATP 250 Melbourne Summer Set. Getting a first-round bye, Rafael went on to win the next 4 matches in straight sets to clinch the title.

Carrying forward the confidence boost he got after winning the Summer Set, Nadal entered the Australian Open as the 6th seed. He won the first 4 rounds with complete ease, dropping just one set in 4 matches.

In the quarter-finals, the 2009 champion faced one of his toughest opponents, Canada’s Denis Shapovalov. Both the left-handers produced some outstanding tennis and gave their fans numerous nail-biting moments. The two, going edge to edge, took the set into the 5th set, where Rafa eventually emerged victorious.

The semi-finals again didn’t seem to trouble the World No. 5 as he easily sailed to the final. In the final, he met 2nd seed, Daniil Medvedev. Struggling with heat, Nadal lost the first 2 sets and was down three break points in the third.

However, showing his vintage never-give-up attitude, Nadal made one of the best comebacks of his career to win the next 3 sets and his 21st Grand Slam at the 2022 Australian open.
