Daniil Medvedev does not like slow courts, and that is the primary reason he absolutely despises playing on clay. His dislike for the slow match was quite visible during his tantrum at Indian Wells, where he complained about the slow-paced nature of the courts. And now that he is gearing up for the clay-court season, Coco Gauff has a perfect dig to remind him how excruciating things can be on the clay court, especially for someone who does not like slow matches.

The Russian tennis star is all set to begin his run at the clay court season. But seems like even the practice session is making Medvedev irritable and Gauff has a perfect reply to that.

The Russian tennis star’s outbursts have become a point of discussion in the tennis realm. He does not like losing and he does not slow matches. Both these things align on the clay court for him, which sends him off in a fit of rage. However, this season, even at the hard-court BNP Paribas Open, the match proved to be too slow for Medvedev. So, he got into a banter with the chair umpire and stated, “I’m gonna pee as slow as this court.”

This comment became the basis of Gauff’s dig. The Mouratoglou Tennis Academy uploaded a picture of Medvedev sitting with a frown on his face after his grueling training session on the clay court. They uploaded the picture on their Instagram story and asked for a perfect caption. To this Gauff replied, “danil when he realizes the indian wells court does not in fact feel like clay.”
