With their recent loss against the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Los Angeles Lakers’ 2021-22 season continues to be rocky. Even though the team has had its moments, the Lakers continue to struggle, especially as LeBron James remains out sidelined to his injuries. Looking back at their 2020-21 season, James being out for an extended period of time has not worked out for the Lakers.

However, as per head coach Frank Vogel’s latest update, James might be back with the team sooner than expected. The Lakers icon has been out since the beginning of the month, already having missed games earlier this season.

Is LeBron James going to be back soon?

James has been out since November 2nd due to his abdominal muscle injury, raising concerns about him being out for weeks. Thankfully, it looks like James is recovering well, and his absence will not be extended.

“LeBron, his rehab is progressing nicely,” Vogel said, adding that the 36-year-old is back on the court with basketball activities. “This does not seem like it’s going to be an extended stretch. He’s to be considered truly day-to-day”.

Irrespective of what the injury was, any on-court activity is always a welcoming news. Evidently, the Lakers roster is built around James, hoping to win them another title next year.

The Akron Hammer’s performance this season

This season, James has been a part of six games for the Lakers, scoring 24.8 points, 7 assists, and 5.5 rebounds per game. He has also been playing almost 40 minutes per game, which is already impressive for someone in their 19th NBA season.

Having said that, the original reports had hinted that Bron’s comeback would happen in a week or two. Now, looking at Vogel’s update, it appears sure that James will be back in over a week.

Meanwhile, the Lakers have been relying on Russell Westbrook, who has been playing his part to lead the team to victory. Anthony Davis has also been scoring for the team, trying to fill in the gap left by James.
