NBA World Draws James Harden Similarities as Rockets Rookie Impresses Fans: “I See 2 GOATs on My Screen”

Rockets fans have looked for the next James Harden ever since that day in January when he forced a trade out from Houston. While his exit might have been ugly, it gave the Houston Rockets enough assets to start a rebuilding process in full swing. However, none of the players involved in the Harden trade are associated with Houston now. Consequently, the fall in the Western Conference table got them Jalen Green in the next NBA draft.
However, they also traded for the rights to Alperen Sengun on the draft night with Oklahoma City Thunder. It is the same team which originally drafted James Harden as well.
However, Harden came to Houston from the Thunder and the rest is history. Therefore, when fans noticed this similarity between the two players, they felt Sengun is destined for the same success as Harden. Well, at least they hope so. Sengun has had an impressive start to his Houston career. In the limited minutes, he plays, his passing and post-up moves are a spark of creativity in the fuse that ignites the Rockets.

James Harden went to the NBA Finals with the OKC Thunder. His trio with Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook carried the Thunder to the NBA Finals against LeBron James’ Miami Heat. However, they lost to them and Harden left for the Rockets. It is undeniable that none of these superstars had reached their prime then. Durant had his MVP season in 2014 and Westbrook in 2017. Even Harden won several scoring titles and an MVP award in Houston. Therefore, one cannot call it a super team.

However, if Harden did not leave after his first stint in the Finals, maybe the Thunder would have won an NBA championship for the first time since 1979. They could have been the next successful super team after LeBron and Wade‘s Miami Heat. However, Harden left for Houston and Durant left to form another super team in the Warriors.
