“Honestly That Was a Ripped Towel”: Legendary Bodybuilder Denies Copying Sylvester Stallone’s Iconic Look From $800 Million Franchise

The iconic bodybuilder of the mass monster era, Jay Cutler, has not been on the competitive stage since 2013, yet his charisma lives on. The iconic athlete is turning 50 next week and is all geared up for a successful year ahead. Cutler stays in the limelight through his social media and relatable content. Earlier, the Comeback King shared a throwback video that gave off the vibe of an iconic action movie star. However, Cutler denied any influence from the movie franchise on his style.

Recently, the 4x Mr. Olympia shared a throwback snippet that showed him deep into his workout with a headband on. The famed look reminds one of acclaimed actor Sylvester Stallone in the Rambo movie franchise. The gigantic bodybuilder is proud of his look and added that “everyone kind of knows me as that Rambo style.” The master of bodybuilding, however, denied that John J. Rambo was a source of inspiration for his attire.

The Rambo movie franchise made close to $800 million worldwide. Additionally, the successful movie franchise has become an inextricable part of pop culture. Furthermore, Rambo headbands have become part of fans’ collectibles. Taking to Instagram, Cutler posted a video that shows the fitness guru working out in a gym. He wrote, “RAMBO MODE, bring back the headband! Who’s going to challenge me?”

Cutler provided an explanation for his use of the headband in the 1999 video he shared. “I ripped the towel. That was a gym towel back at Gold’s Gym in Western Massachusetts and I actually rip the strip of that towel and put it on my head,” added the Cutler Nutrition CEO. The snippet shows Cutler in beast mode, working out his arms. His focus and commitment to the workout made him look like a workout ninja.

The fitness influencer further added, “I mean, back in those days when I was training for competition, I was getting super hot. I mean I was I was all jacked up on usually a cup of coffee at the time that was prior to pre-workouts and I was motivated. My metabolism was flying, so I would definitely sweat during the workout.

It surprised the bodybuilding behemoth that his unassuming gym persona would earn him the comparison with John Rambo. The humble sportsperson further reiterated, “… honestly, that was a ripped towel.” Cutler throws a fun towel competition with his followers at the end of the post. The Quad Stomper, even to this day, looks menacing and formidable. He is working out hard to maintain his fitness level through his Fit for 50 challenge.

The Fit for 50 body transformation challenge has almost come to an end. Cutler took his fans on a 12-week whirlwind journey into his fitness regime. Posting the updates on JayCutler TV, which has nearly 800k followers, the bodybuilder revealed that he is aiming for both physical and mental fitness. In his prime, the Mr. Olympia winner was close to 310 lbs. But now he is more into longevity.

He also shared his diet regime, which includes a whopping 6,000 calories per day. “I’m drinking a lot of egg whites right now, a couple of whole eggs in the morning,” added CutlerThe trailblazer is also consuming chicken steak, trifecta meat, and bison meat to maintain his jacked physique. He has also bought an air fryer to indulge in some healthy French fries.
