Former UFC Lightweight champion and one of the best Lightweights ever to grace the octagon Khabib Nurmagomedov is certainly a role model to many. Like many of the boxing greats, the Dagestani fighter is also a stern believer in Islam and follows that way of life to the fullest. This naturally means that Nurmagomedov has a moral compass that he will follow for his life no matter the cost.

Moreover, coming from a very humble background ‘The Eagle’ knows perfectly well about the hardships and struggles of life. However, this cannot be said for his children who did grow up around much more than what their father did. Despite this, Nurmagomedov is still a strict parent who wants to teach his children the importance of money and facing hardships in life. He also revealed why he was a strict father and detailed how he raised his children in an interview.

Khabib Nurmagomedov reveals how he wants to raise his children

In an interview, the former champion claimed that love could make people very weak. He then added that despite loving his kid he turned out to be like a ‘vegetable’ and realized he needed to become stricter and not do everything according to their wishes.

“Sometimes love can kill people, sometimes not all the time you know. Sometimes you love your kid you give him everything and he grew up like I don’t know like a vegetable. You have to teach him how to live. But sometimes like I tell when my kids ask me something I all the time say not everything like you want,” he said.

The region of Dagestan is known for producing some of the best fighters in the world today including current UFC Lightweight champion Islam Makhachev, and unified Light Heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev in boxing among others. Moreover, the reason for this according to Nurmagomedov is due to the harsh living conditions of the area that makes residents naturally stronger. This was not all as WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury also shared the message online.

‘The Gypsy King’ shared the video on his Instagram Story. Fury who is currently the father of six children might have found this advice very useful. Moreover, like Nurmagomedov, his children will also be far more privileged than he ever was. This might be the reason Fury was quick to share the video also giving this advice to millions of parents around the world.

The bout will be one of the biggest fights in Heavyweight history and the winner will be crowned as the undisputed champion.
