Andy Ruiz Jr. has remained out of the title picture for a substantial while now. The Mexican-American boxer became an overnight sensation after he outboxed the modern-day heavyweight icon, Anthony Joshua, and became the unified champion. However, his success was short-lived as Joshua defeated him in the rematch.
Subsequently, Ruiz Jr took a hiatus and beat Chris Arreola on his return. Now, he has a terrific opportunity in hand to slide into the title picture again.
Recently, Boxing Scene reported that Andy Ruiz Jr. and Murat Gassiev received offers from IBF for a title eliminator fight against Filip Hrgovic. Also, both Ruiz Jr. and Gassiev have a Friday evening deadline to accept the offer.
