The two epic battles fought in the heavyweight division back in the year 2021 have created a lot of speculations in 2022. Former Heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua faced the Ukrainian star Oleksandr Usyk in September and lost his throne. On the other hand, the undefeated heavyweight technician, Tyson Fury, outboxed The American pugilist Deontay Wilder in the last fight of the trilogy.

Since then there is hype for the undisputed title clash between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk. However, AJ has activated the rematch contract between him and Usyk. As of now, there is no certainty which fighter will face which opponent.

In a show on talkSPORT, British professional boxer Conor Benn took the fact that Anthony Joshua is stepping aside in exchange for 15 million euros. However, Joshua has rejected all those claims, calling it a rumor. According to Conor Benn, there is no shame in taking 15 million euros for stepping aside and allowing a showdown between ‘The Gypsy King‘ and Oleksandr Usyk.

‘The Destroyer’ said, “of course, it does, yeah, it makes a world of sense and there’s no shame in taking the 15 million euros, I don’t know why people are carrying on saying there’s nothing.

Further, Benn said that people are not understanding this negotiation, but it all makes sense to get 15 million euros for not fighting the rematch.

What if Anthony Joshua fights in a rematch?

AJ has already denied the negotiation claim. He is busy training for his next fight since he faced a loss against Usyk in the unified title clash. However, he seems confident about the rematch. As he had turned the tables against former heavyweight champion Andy Ruiz Jr. in 2019 in the rematch showdown.

If he faces Usyk next in the ring, then there is a bigger probability that ‘The Gypsy King’ will fight mandatory challenger British boxer, Dillian Whyte. Henceforth, whoever wins in these battles will fight for the undisputed heavyweight championship.
