Canelo Alvarez has established himself as one of the best pound-for-pound boxers in the world. The reigning super-middleweight undisputed champion has a reputation for being a boxer with versatility and sheer dedication. And it should be noted that boxing is not the only sport that has piqued Alvarez’s interest. The champion can be considered a man of many talents whose skillset surpasses the restrictive domain of boxing. And it seems like Alvarez already has a plan in action for himself after he hangs up his gloves.
It is no secret that Alvarez likes to golf and avidly enjoys the sport. But, it should be noted that not many fans are aware of the fondness that the 32-year-old has for golfing. In a recent interview, Alvarez revealed his aspirations towards pursuing golfing as a professional career after his retirement from boxing.
As he sat down to talk with Daily Mail Sport, the Mexican termed golfing as an “addiction.” It should be noted that Alvarez will be returning to the boxing ring in his hometown on May 6. He will defend his title against the British boxer John Ryder.

Alvarez said, “I’ve hardly played any golf in the last few weeks. I still love boxing – the doing, not so much the watching – but golf is an addiction I have to break before fights. I got my handicap down during the covid lockdown while building my recovery from hand injury.”
Despite all the dedication ‘Saul’ has towards boxing, it seems like he can’t get enough of golf.
However, It doesn’t matter how much of a golf aficionado Alvarez is. He still does not bother to risk anything for his fights. He added, “I can’t take those risks before a fight, Can’t afford even a small accident.”
All the Mexicans will be waiting for their pride and one of the best boxers in the world to perform in his hometown and make them proud.
