‘The Matrix’ Vasyl Lomachenko returned to the win column with spectacular victories over Masayoshi Nakatani and Richard Commey in 2021. While he had plans to fight Teofimo Lopez, he may have changed them after ‘The Takeover’ lost his unified lightweight straps to George Kambosos Jr. in November 2021.

Vasyl Lomachenko has agreed to battle ‘Ferocious’ in Australia. It can be an intriguing lightweight feast of action for the fans. However, WBC lightweight titlist Devin Haney has also expressed his interest in facing Kambosos Jr. in an undisputed title clash. Hence, Lomachenko may have to take a back seat if ‘The Dream’ topples the race by bagging the fight.
Vasyl Lomachenko is in a division full of A-listers
The lightweight division is currently stacked. If the A-listers opt to battle the best, we can witness some of the most electrifying matchups happen. Thus, Lomachenko can bag many of the big fights, even if he doesn’t get his hands on George Kambosos Jr.

As several more non-titlists are also lurking over the championship scene, that will enrich Lomachenko’s pool of opponents. Similarly, it will also endanger his top-tier position, putting the Ukrainian legend before some of the toughest tests of his in-ring career. As of now, anything can happen in the division at any given point.
