Warning a boxing insider, Mike Coppinger, The Mexican wrote, “I don’t even agree I’m still negotiating don’t lie to people the day everything is signed that day I’ll let them know for now there’s nothing concrete.”

Earlier, WBC cruiserweight champion Ilunga Makabu was the most authentic opponent of Canelo. They even met at the media event and shared their photos. However, months have gone by and there is no update regarding their probable clash.

However, the IBF and IBO middleweight titleholder, Gennady Golovkin is most likely to lock horns by the end of this year. GGG is keen to take a shot. But Canelo has still not made any statement. Recently, added names on the list of probable opponents are Russian pugilist, Dmitry Bivol, and two-time super middleweight champion, David Benavidez. He is the same fighter, Floyd Mayweather has accused Canelo of ducking.
