During an interview with Matchroom Boxing, Reynoso sat down to talk about his new boxing project alongside Matchroom, to search for the next big boxing star from Mexico. During the interview, Reynoso spoke about what’s next for the ‘Unified’ super middleweight champion. “One of the projects that we have [is] to fight in the UK, Japan, China, Dubai.”

“That’s what we wanna do next in the career of Canelo – fight around the world.” Reynoso said. After more than a decade away from his home country Mexico, Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez will look to fight back in his hometown of Guadalajara in Mexico. After which he will look to fight in all the countries where he can sell out stadiums.

This will be Canelo’s own version of a world tour, the way film stars and musicians do it. Instead, Canelo will go around the globe fighting, trying to defend his hard-earned titles. With his win over Caleb ‘Sweethands’ Plant, Canelo made history. However, the Mexican is not done yet. There’s more history to be made for Canelo.

Who is Canelo Alvarez fighting next?

After an impressive 11th round KO over ‘Sweethands’ Plant, Canelo has now set out on another mission, to make history again. The ‘unified’ super-middleweight champion set his eyes on the cruiserweight division. His trainer Eddy Reynoso requested the WBC to sanction a fight between him and the WBC world champion at Cruiserweight Ilunga Makabu.

The purpose of requesting the WBC to sanction the fight was because Canelo had never fought in the Cruiserweight before. Now that the WBC sanctioned the fight, only time will tell if the two parties can agree to a set of terms to confirm the fight. Who do you think will stop Canelo’s quest for boxing immortality?
