Boxing’s superstar Mike Tyson is all set to make his debut in Bollywood with the release of the film Liger on 25th August this year. The boxer, known to have introduced a new path in combat sports, signed for an extended cameo in Liger in September 2021. Following Tyson’s signing, the cast and crew went to Las Vegas in November of the same year and shot the portions that featured Tyson. With only three days left for the release, co-star Vijay Deverakonda, who plays the lead role in the movie, opened up about getting punched by Tyson.

In a recent interview, talking about his experiences of working alongside Mike Tyson, Deverakonda said, “I was worried when I saw his hands, his foot and his neck. When he punched me by mistake during rehearsals, I had migraine for the whole day. I didn’t get knocked out, but body wanted to fall down.”

The other co-star, Ananya Panday, who played the love interest of Devarakonda’s character in film Liger, addressed the time Tyson put his heavy arm on one of her two shoulders. Although the weight of Tyson’s arm and the idea of Tyson earlier “scared” her, she later found the former world heavyweight champion to be sweet. According to Panday, Tyson was very sweet.

Apart from Tyson’s “sweet” nature and his heavy arm, the other thing that amazed his co-stars was the size of his feet. According to Devarkonda, one day on set the production could not find Tyson a shoe for his size. While they looked for Tyson’s shoes, Devarkonda was just amazed.
