The entire boxing world seems excited to see Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua clash in a title unification fight. However, there’s a trilogy underneath and at any point, Deontay Wilder can emerge to challenge Fury for one final time.
Following his maiden career loss against Tyson Fury, Wilder hasn’t announced his return and has been away for over a year. While several fans would ridicule this stance, Dereck Chisora believes, ‘The Bronze Bomber’ is just waiting for the right moment.
Not only that, but ‘War’ also tagged Wilder’s manager, Shelly Finkel, to be a smart man, and just at the right time, Chisora can envision them bagging almost $80 million from the third fight.

Speaking with IFL TV, (As per Boxing News 24) Chisora said, “He hasn’t said anything, has he? Because he knows if that fight [between Wilder and Fury], he’s going to get at least $80 million just sitting down, so he’d biding his time. He’s got a three-fight deal. Yeah, the legal side is there, bro. I’m telling you, man, we all want this fight [Wilder vs. Fury] to happen, but it’s not going to happen now.”
Apart from financial politics, Chisora also saw it from a boxing point of view and billed his favor for Deontay Wilder. That said, Chisora can see the former WBC champion return stronger.
He added, “Wilder is going to come back. He is taking his time. He’s a wounded animal right now, his pride is off ‘to this day.’”
But Fury would still have to face Anthony Joshua first. While the two have touted a title unification clash for a long time, promoters are keen to make it official. So, Deontay Wilder would have to wait till the skies clear off.
What’s next for Deontay Wilder?
To dust himself off, the former WBC champion can return against an underdog opponent. He is rumored to fight American KO artist, Charles Martin on his comeback. If Wilder bags a win, he can rightfully demand his title shot.

Claiming the WBC title in 2015, Wilder defended it until 2020 with an unbeaten run of knockout displays. So, he is still an elite in the division and has his fair share of chances against Tyson Fury.
