Eddie Hearn Pitches New Timeline for Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua

This year, Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury’s magnetic undisputed title fight was all set to come to life. This bout also got set to take place in Saudi Arabia on August 14, with both the fighters being on the brink of receiving their biggest paychecks. However, due to some external factors, this contest fell through and every fight fan was left feeling disheartened.
But recently, Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, revealed a piece of positive news pertaining to this matchup. He asserted that this fight might come to fruition once Joshua and Fury get past their next adversaries. And talking about the timeline, Hearn added that a February 2022 timeline might be ‘realistic’

Speaking to talkSport, he said, “I spent six months wasting my time, so let’s get these fights out the way and see what happens.”

More than anyone else, both the fighters themselves were eager to take each other on in this cosmic encounter. They pulled off some staggering performances in the heavyweight roster to make themselves viable for this fight. And since all the heavyweight titles were on the line for this bout, this contest seemed otherworldly to many fans.
New opponents on deck
However, it unfortunately, failed to materialize and now both the fighters are lined up to face different opponents. That said, Joshua will face Oleksandr Usyk for his title defense on September 25th. Whereas, Fury will defend his WBC strap against his arch-nemesis, Deontay Wilder on October 9th.
