Last year, Canelo Alvarez became the maiden undisputed super-middleweight champion by beating Caleb Plant. With this, he raised his stakes and fans seemed excited about his next move. Canelo was in the news to scale up and fight at bigger weight classes. Also, over the past few weeks, he’s made it to the headlines for his next fight negotiations.
It is expected that Canelo can ink a two-fight deal with Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing. But nothing concrete came in the news pertaining to the same.
Recently, Hearn was in a chat with iFL TV. Here he brought the spotlight back on Canelo’s next fight negotiations and more.

He said, “I mean, look, my copy dude was on the case last week. He was messaging me any comment. I didn’t even reply to him because there was nothing done. And there’s, you know, Canelo came out and said we’re still negotiating, there’s nothing inside and that was the case then, that’s still the case now.”
“Yes, we are in advanced talks with Canelo Alvarez. Yes, it would be huge for me personally, for Matchroom for DAZN to work with Canelo Alvarez again. I’ll do everything I can to try and secure that.”
In the Matchroom deal, Canelo Alvarez will predominantly face Dmitry Bivol and former rival Gennady Golovkin in a trilogy. Also, it was reported that Canelo rejected a two-fight deal from Al-Haymon’s PBC to fight Jermall Charlo and David Benavidez.
How much will Canelo Alvarez earn from his Matchroom deal?
Canelo Alvarez is set to make big gains from his Matchroom deal. The two might close on a whopping $85 million deal for two fights.
