What did John Gotti III say to Floyd Mayweather during the press conference?
Gotti is a Mayweather fan through and through. The fighter made that evident during the press conference of their bout. Usually, in press conferences, fighters get into each other heads by verbally taking shots at each other. However, the press conference between the two was contrary to the same as Gotti was as respectful as one can be. He mentioned how Mayweather inspired him in the sport and how surreal it is for the fighter to square off against the 50-0 boxer.
He stated, “Listen, it is going to be a pinch me moment for sure you know this was somebody that legitimately my hero in boxing growing up. It is not me just saying that because I am here. Like I said, I did a school project on Floyd I watched every one of his fights. I have been team Mayweather since I am 9 years old.”
It is safe to say that Gotti will be squaring off against one of his favorite fighters. For all we know, the exhibition will take place on 11th June and Gotti has the opportunity to make a name for himself. Though, only time can reveal what happens when the two meet in the ring.
Floyd Mayweather talks about coming up with his own belt
The sport of boxing has many champions within one weight class who holds multiple world championship belts. Recently, Mayweather proposed the idea to have his one and only championship belt which counts. He stated, “Where that belt trumps all the titles, trumps all the belts and it doesn’t matter who’s the champion, because only one belt’s gonna count, which is the belt I’m gonna come out with.”
