Floyd Mayweather, the unbeaten 5-division World Champion, has reached the pinnacle of the sport on the back of successful decisions inside and outside the boxing ring.
He is a technical puncher who has amassed an enormous fortune for himself and is one of the richest boxers to have ever lived.
What’s more, Mayweather has his own Promotion now. Apart from that, the 43-year-old has several other business ventures, including a nightclub called ‘Girl Collection’ in Las Vegas.

However, it all tracks back to one decision that seemingly changed Mayweather’s life. Although he was earning a pretty decent amount, his shift from Top Rank Promotions to hosting his own events made him the billionaire boxer.
A young Floyd Mayweather began his professional career at Bob Arum’s Top Rank Promotions in 1996 against Roberto Apodaca. As he knocked out Apodaca in his maiden fight, ‘Pretty Boy Floyd’ was on the verge of becoming ‘Money May’ in the coming days.
He had a sensational run with Top Rank for a decade that saw him become the World Champion. Both Bob Arum and Mayweather were bagging huge numbers then.
However, the pugilist soon realized, he can increase the numbers by hosting his events. He was the face of boxing and didn’t hesitate to part ways with Bob Arum’s team.
In 2006, Mayweather finally enacted on the decision, paving the way for Mayweather promotions in the coming days.

As per Forbes, Mayweather had to pay a reported amount of $750,000 to Bob Aru while becoming a free-agent. Despite bearing the heavy sum, it was minor in front of what he was going to seek in the future.
Since forming the ‘Mayweather Promotions’, the world champion has bagged immense amounts that saw him earn even up to $200 million from one fight. Well, he isn’t the only one to do so.
