George Kambosos Jr. Takes a Brutal Dig on ‘Sh** Scared’ Devin Haney

Unified lightweight champion George Kambosos Jr. isn’t shying away from beefing with the other champions of the lightweight division. Having smashed Teofimo Lopez in his latest outing, Kambosos Jr now wants the best at 135 lbs and is willing to defend his lightweight straps in Australia next.
He has already clarified about facing either WBC champion Devin Haney or former champion Vasyl Lomachenko in his upcoming appearance. Meanwhile, Kambosos Jr. already seems to have developed a rivalry with Haney, which is turning into a bad-blood feud.

Taking jabs at Haney’s marketing skills, ‘Ferocious’ wrote on Twitter, “The kids s**t scared and his own broadcaster won’t back him because he ain’t bringing subscriptions. Cold hard truth. Poor kid did like 500 tickets in his last fight! No lie I was there. It was his own damn hometown too. I did more in my pro debut at a local club.”

After vanquishing Lopez, George Kambosos Jr. had gone to watch Devin Haney defend his WBC strap against Joseph Diaz at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas. The champions verbally agreed to lock horns over there. However, that fight is still not official. The only condition that Kambosos Jr. put forth was to fight in his home country, Australia.

Devin Haney had agreed to it and had claimed to visit Jupiter if he had to do so for facing George Kambosos Jr. Well, the current situation doesn’t seem to sit well with that as Kambosos Jr is considering another opponent in Vasyl Lomachenko already. Being the lightweight titleholder, Kambosos Jr. won’t have a deficit in finding viable opponents.

From Ryan Garcia to Devin Haney, several lightweight stars have eyed a scrap against Kambosos Jr. But the champion isn’t willing to offer everyone a shot. He ruled out Garcia’s chances primarily and now seems to be pushing for a fight against Haney. On attaining a win over ‘The Dream’, Kambosos Jr. will become an undisputed lightweight champion.

He currently holds the WBC (franchise) belt with Haney holding the WBC 135 lbs world championship. Hence, that fight makes sense, especially when both men are undefeated and are seemingly in their prime.
