Moreover, the two were even pitted against each other at the event’s first pre-fight press conference. This was not all as Paul also chimed in and gave his take on who according to him was the current ‘face of boxing’. The debate was initiated by Gervonta Davis who declared himself ‘the face of boxing’ following his victory over Ryan Garcia. However, undisputed super middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez refuted this claim and crowned himself as the face.

Jake Paul reveals who according to him is ‘the face of boxing’

In the press conference, the Ohio-based boxer claimed that Alvarez was ‘the face of boxing’. However, he also hilariously compared himself and Davis with some other body parts. “I would say Gervonta, Canelo. I would say Canelo’s probably still the ‘face’. Gervonta’s the t**s and I’m the a**,” he said.

The YouTuber is famous for being a troll and did not shy away from being one here. Despite this, he still thinks that the Mexican champion is the face of boxing. Regardless of who is the face, Paul now has a cache to restore his loss and will be aiming to get his boxing career back on track.

Paul believes he is a future Hall of Fame boxer

In the pre-fight press conference, ‘The Problem Child’ seemingly took offense after a reporter questioned his status among the all-time greats. He claimed that he changed the sport of boxing bringing a whole new audience to the sport and increasing its popularity.

I don’t know who you are to say that, I’m not a future hall-of-fame boxer? I have done more for the sport than any boxers in current history. What has Floyd Mayweather done for the women’s boxing? The list goes on, I’ve changed the whole entire game and brought a new 70 million followers to the sport,” he said.

Although Paul’s statement does hold some weight, it will still be very hard to consider him a hall-of-fame boxer. While there is no denying he has bought more eyeballs to the ‘sweet science’, it is not the only factor in a Hall-of-Famer. However, Paul’s career is still ongoing and he does have plenty of time to prove everyone wrong and cement his legacy in the sport.
