Ahead of the bout on the 22nd of April, Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia, during an Instagram live session, agreed to a ‘winner takes all’ bet. Contrary to his expectations, Garcia lost the fight against Davis and collected his first professional defeat in the ring. Hence, going by the ‘winner takes all’ purse split, Davis shall technically keep all the money following the bout inside T-Mobile.

However, the WBA (regular) lightweight title holder has honored the labor expended by Garcia and consequently refused to consume Garcia’s share from the initial split. At the post-fight press conference, ‘Tank’ offered his verdict on the ‘winner takes all’ bet.

With his accuracy and quickness, Davis conquered Ryan Garcia inside the sold-out T-Mobile Arena on the 22nd of April. Despite being the taller opponent inside the ring, Garcia could not execute his game plan in front of Gervonta Davis. With a devastating left hand to the body, Davis stopped Garcia in the ring as celebrities and elite athletes in the audience watched. Following the end of the fight, on being asked about the ‘winner takes all’ agreement, Davis honored and acknowledged the effort and labor of “the best fighter” he has so far fought, Ryan Garcia.

“Nah, he can keep the money. He can take the money, he can take it,” said Gervonta Davis regarding the ‘winner takes all’ purse split. Following his win against Garcia, Davis now stands with a record of 0 losses, 0 draws, and 29 wins. With yet another knockout on his record, ‘Tank’ now has a KO rate of 93.1%. From the bout, Davis has reportedly earned a guaranteed figure of $5 Million, whereas, Garcia received a guaranteed figure of $2.5 Million. Although Davis honored Garcia’s labor, the latter shall be more careful regarding bets in the future.
