Jones Jr said, “Look at ‘Bud’ Crawford, Bud Crawford came on the scene, adjust to anything they brought him. When they made him fought Prescott he was supposed to beat Prescott. He beat the dog living heck out of Prescott, because he knew how to adjust it. He learned enough from his amateur experience to know how to make adjustments. He made an adjustment on the spot and beat it. Everybody he fought, you would watch him make adjustments.” Not only this, he even talked about how Errol Spence Jr lacked this ability.
He stated, “So [Errol Spence Jr.] never had to make no adjustments. So when he finally fought Bud he he wasn’t able to make that adjustment because he hadn’t been in the habit of making adjustments, you feel me? So not that he not a hell of a pro fighter, but Errol Spence is a hell of a pro fighter. But when you’re not forced to make those adjustments it kind of kind of hurts you in the long run because when you can make adjustments you can do anything.” However, Jones Jr believes that there’s a boxer who can give a tough fight to Terence Crawford and he wouldn’t miss their fight for the world. So who is it?

Roy Jones Jr. sees an intriguing matchup: Terence Crawford vs. Gervonta Davis, both three-division champs. Despite Davis’s smaller size, he’s known for taking on heavier foes and winning. However, Jones acknowledged Crawford dropping weight could be tough, but he’s excited about the potential showdown, making it a must-see event for fans. He even pointed out the things Davis has that Spence Jr lacked in their previous bout.
He told RealLyfe Productions, “Crawford … I don’t see nobody around that’s gonna beat him unless it’s somebody way bigger than him, but don’t sleep on the fact that if him and Tank fought at about 145, that’s a good damn fight. You understand me?” Furthermore, he continued, “Cause they both have very high IQs, and Tank is very explosive. That’s the one thing Tank got that Errol didn’t have.”
