Tonight’s Riyadh Season card in Los Angeles, headlined by Terence Crawford and Israil Madrimov is being viewed as one of the biggest boxing events in the US in recent past. And why wouldn’t it? It’s quite literally jam-packed with high-profile matchups, which could all have had their own cards like Isaac Cruz, Andy Ruiz Jr., and David Morrell. And it became a reality because of His Excellency Turki Alalshikh. However, Timothy Bradley feels the event isn’t selling well.

See, the thing is, the card comes amid the 2024 Paris Olympics, and like most big fights in the state, it doesn’t have a prominent Mexican or a Mexican American on the main card. Not to mention, the ticket prices for the event have been both overpriced ‌and have shown signs of panic with discounts. So, Bradley had his opinion on whether the event would sell! Turns out, it did, as the Saudi genius hopped on X to reveal today!

HE Turki Alalshikh goes all in!

Timothy Bradley appeared in Monday’s episode of ProBox TV’s ‘Deep Waters’, where he said, “If you pay attention to ticket sales, they’re not doing that hot.” Alongside his panelists, Bradley explored the Riyadh Season Card, which will air live on DAZN, ESPN, and PPV.com.

The former world champion explained that while Terence Crawford is a tremendous fighter, “He still hasn’t reached that super-stardom just yet.” Bradley even suggested that Crawford hasn’t taken full advantage of his shutout win over Errol Spence Jr. which propelled him into the limelight last year.

His Excellency swiftly took to X today to address the former world champion’s claims, countering Bradley’s statement by announcing that the tickets for the fight are indeed sold out. “To everyone and Timothy Bradley included, tickets for Riyadh Season Card, LA are SOLD OUT!” But things, of course, didn’t end there!

Bradley had even claimed, unlike Crawford, “‘Pitbull’ Cruz brings a lot of eyes—he can sell”. You guessed it, the Saudi Royal Advisor had an answer for this as well. In his post, HE Turki Alalshikh claimed, “Crawford [is] a true mega star and the number one P4P”, adding he is excited about future endeavors in the country. Interestingly, even Madrimov’s promoter has claimed the event’s scale is unparalleled.

Eddie Hearn feels it’s the biggest boxing night in US history

Eddie Hearn might not have been born in the US, but he does have a lot of American boxers in his stable. But considering all-time greats like Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, and Floyd Mayweather have danced inside the ring in the country, Hearn suggesting the Riyadh Season Card in LA is the “biggest night of boxing” is quite a reach.

In an interview with TMZ Sports, the head of Matchroom Boxing said, “I mean, it’s the biggest night of boxing I think America’s ever seen.” While you could say, Hearn would say nice things about his boxer’s event, he added, “It’s the depths of these cards that are just insane… if this was just my show, I couldn’t put on this undercard.”

With that said, as His Excellency Turki Alalshikh has proved there is still hope for the sport to regain its former glory. He has disproved Timothy Bradley’s claims by revealing that the event is sold out. However, the question remains: will this stacked card succeed in Pay-Per-View sales, given the fierce competition from the Olympics? What are your thoughts?
