Ryan Garcia finally broke his silence on being left alone at the post-fight press conference following his first professional defeat to Gervonta Davis. In a conversation with Bradley Martyn, the 24-year-old voiced his honest thoughts about his team while addressing a “someone” who betrayed him in the camp. According to Garcia, it was the “worst” feeling ever being alone at the press conference after Gervonta Davis conquered ‘KingRy’ with a thunderous body shot.
Although still somewhat melancholic, Garcia is happy with his new coach. Likewise, he hopes to face Davis in a rematch somewhere in the future. The 24-year-old, who is now looking forward to racking up a number of victories following his return to 140 lbs, called out his team while addressing what he did wrong against ‘Tank’.

As per the statements made by Garcia, not only after the fight but even during the bout against Gervonta Davis, the 24-year-old felt alone. To borrow his own words, he felt as if his whole team was against him. This feeling led Garcia to be impatient. “I felt alone. I got impatient that’s why I got caught. Got impatient, [and] he caught me with a good shot,” said KingRy. However, the “worst” feeling for Garcia was being left alone at the post-fight conference following his loss to Gervonta Davis.

Garcia melancholically added. While Garcia faced the press alone following his first loss, the boxing world questioned Bernard Hopkins and Oscar De La Hoya‘s absence. In this connection, De La Hoya later took to social media and announced he received death threats and consequently vacated the arena missing the press conference. However, the CEO of Golden Boy Boxing assured Garcia that he had KingRy’s back “a thousand per cent“.
Anyway, now with a new coach, Garcia is hopeful about making progress. Likewise, ‘KingRy’ spoke about rematching Davis after racking up “some wins“. The 24-year-old hopes to fight Davis at 140 lbs with no rehydration clause in a rematch. “At the right weight 140 (lbs) [with] no rehydration clause. I did it for the people this time; when I come back I’m gonna do it for me,” declared Garcia sparkling with hope.
