“I Respect Boxing Too Much”: Jake Paul And Ryan Garcia Join The Combat Sports Fraternity in Calling Out KSI For His Illegal Elbow

YouTuber turned boxing sensation KSI recently secured an impressive victory against Joe Fournier at the MF & DAZN: X Series 007. Moreover, this bout saw him dish out a second-round knockout and, in turn, retain his MF cruiserweight title. However, KSI’s knockout punch became a point of contention, with many believing that it should have led to his disqualification. In fact, YouTuber turned boxer, Jake Paul, took to social media to point out the discrepancies with the fight verdict.
In a tweet, Paul mentioned that he respects the sport of boxing too much to agree with KSI’s victory.
I respect boxing too much to respect what that was. If that was indeed a real boxing match it will be ruled a no contest or disqualification.

During the second round, KSI hit Fournier with a brutal right while in a clinch. But, on scrutinizing, it was seen that KSI’s elbow had connected with Fournier’s chin, sending him to the canvas. Which, according to many was a basis for disqualification.
Paul voiced his disagreement by stating that in ‘a real boxing match’, this would have been ruled as a no contest. And, also added that KSI might even have gotten into trouble for the same.
KSI, on the other hand, was certain that his victory was well deserved. According to the Mirror, commentator Todd Grisham asked him about the illegal elbow after the fight. To which, he responded by saying, “Nah bro, I hit him with a massive shot. He was dazed and scrambling. Trying to hold onto me for dear life.”
KSI vs Fournier took place at the Wembley Arena in London. However, it failed to pique a lot of interest from fans, with many even calling out the undercards.
Jake Paul was not the only one who called KSI out
It should be mentioned that Paul was not the only one who took a dig at KSI for the ‘illegal elbow’. A lot of prominent names from the combat sports world quickly followed suit to share their thoughts.
Definitely hit him with the elbow, not that the fight was going to end any different but rules are rules
Also this guy was not a boxer I don’t who came up with that.
They should change it to no contest and just move on from this fight. #KSIFournier

Lightweight phenom, Ryan Garcia, was certain that he saw KSI use his elbow. Moreover, he also mentioned that the fight should be ruled as a no-contest.
