The heavyweight legend recently had an interview with Shannon Sharpe. While reflecting his opinion on the most infamous events of his life from the past, ‘Iron Mike’ recalled the most controversial incident that transformed the course of his journey.

When ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’ was in the prime days of his boxing career, he was sentenced to serve time in prison. While it was a setback for his career, Tyson believes that happened for his own good.

In his interview with Shannon Sharpe, ‘Iron Mike’ said, “If that didn’t happen, Mike Tyson would have died, so that was the best thing that ever happened to Mike Tyson. I know in my heart.”

Eventually, he resumed boxing and became the most spectacular hero in the ring again. ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’ gave blistering shows. Moreover, he challenged the then-WBC heavyweight champion Frank Bruno and regained the heavyweight title in 1996.

This was the second time Bruno faced ‘Iron Mike.’ However, the result was the same. Tyson seized the champion in the third round.
