In an interview of the near past, Tyson spoke about crying. The interviewer, based on the information she had, asked Mike if he cried before his fights. On being asked if he actually cried before all his fights, Mike Tyson answered, “Some of them. That’s who I am.”

So why did Tyson cry for? Here’s what Tyson said his account was for crying.

Mike Tyson said he felt bad for his opponent’s family

Believe it or not, the man who once publically threatened to eat his opponent’s kids felt bad for the same opponent’s family, who would be sure not appreciate how Tyson would treat their boy. The interviewer asked Tyson whether he cried because he was angry and tried composing himself, or if it was simply because he was scared on the inside.

Tyson replied by saying, “A little bit of both. Pretty scared, and by being scared, I’m doing something bad to this guy, and his family is not going to like. And that would be really guilty. It will really feel bad at the end.”

But why did Tyson cry only before “some” of his fights? Did the other opponents he faced did not deserve his generosity and concern? Dwelling to grasp meaning in Tyson’s words. Ah! Such is the generous hypocrisy of the ‘Baddest Man on the Earth’ that even if he threatened to kill, how benevolent he was, for he showed compassion for those he would puncture. Well, not only crying but according to reports, before his fights, Tyson would also ask for six! “One of the greatest secrets with Mike was that he needed to have s*x in the dressing room before fights.”
