“I’m Just Focused On Smashing His Head”: Moments After Claiming to Carry the Heavyweight Division, Anthony Joshua Sends a Message to Deontay Wilder

Having stopped Robert Helenius with a praise-worthy cross in the seventh round, Anthony Joshua sent Deontay Wilder a “smashing” message. As per Joshua’s statement, Wilder is just another fight and likewise, he is the least bothered about the outcome of fighting the same. Hence, at the post-fight conference, the former unified Heavyweight champion said, “Any time is a good time to fight. It’s only a fight. It doesn’t matter who it is“.

Joshua, who doesn’t like to look back, claimed that he is focused on facing Wilder now. Consequently, he believed that the people would appreciate him. Along these lines, Joshua claimed that he carried heavyweight boxing. In conclusion, he declared that he would smash Deontay Wilder’s head.

Following his 7th-round-KO win against Robert Helenius, Joshua is of the opinion that “any time is good time” to fight Deontay Wilder or anyone else in the ring. As per the 33-year-old, it “doesn’t matter” when the fight is happening. “It could have been Wilder eight years ago or Wilder now. It is what it is. At the end of the day, it’s only a fight and boxing wins, “declared ‘AJ’. To believe the former unified-Heavyweight champion’s words, Joshua is happy knowing that he can get the fight going. “You know, I’m doing my best to keep heavyweight boxing on the map,” he also announced.

By and by, Joshua declared that neither the potential outcome of the fight bothered him. “We’re gonna fight and what will be will be,” he stated. To conclude, in a strong statement, ‘AJ’ said that the only thing that he was currently focused on was smashing Deontay Wilder’s head. In this context, it is worth reiterating that while Wilder KOed Helenius in the first round, AJ took six and a half rounds to carry the day.
