Devin Haney is planning his homecoming with Eddie Hearn, as there are high chances that Haney may re-sign with Matchroom Boxing. Due to some recent turn of events, Devin Haney had a personal call with Hearn and he’s even deliberating over attending his potential opponent, Regis Prograis‘ fight against Danielito Zorrilla in New Orleans. In the past, Haney was braced by Eddie for over a decade, but then he wanted to get a shot at the undisputed title. After defeating Joseph Diaz, he decided to sojourn with Top Rank and secured a fight with George Kambosos Jr. The plan was always to come back. Even Hearn said the same during the split- “His plan is to go and get those belts and then come back… I want Devin to become undisputed.

Hearn also added that he knows Haney’s “loyal“, and as his benefactor he wanted the best for him. And that’s what happened, he even defended his title against Vasyl Lomachenko and is currently a free agent because his contract with Top Rank is reportedly over. In a recent interview, Hearn revealed that if ‘The Dream’ decides to return, he’d love to make something happen between him and Prograis.

Will Devin Haney attend the Regis Prograis fight?

Regis Prograis is preparing to defend his Super Lightweight title against the underdog, Daneilto Zorrilla on June 17th. The bout is set to take place in Smoothie King Center, New Orleans. And Prograis has invited Haney to his bout and offered him ringside tickets in his recent tweet. He even promised to show him the “southern hospitality”.

Suddenly after that, Devin Haney retweeted Prograis and made his stance clear by saying, “I’m thinking about it…” Then he also went ahead to reveal that he had a phone call with his former promoter, Eddie Hearn, and stated presumably, Prograis must have heard about it.

Well, it seems that Haney is interested in getting a bout against Prograis, and for that reason, Haney could likely make a comeback to Matchroom Boxing. That’s not it, even Hearn sent out a crucial piece of advice for Haney, guiding him regarding his choice for the next promotional banner.

Eddie Hearn advises Haney on the promotional future

In his recent interview with Ariel Helwani on MMA Hour, Hearn pushes Haney towards the idea of being a free agent, and not just sticking to a single promotional banner. Mostly because he’s got great prospects lined up for him in the future, he’s got the Prograis fight with Matchroom, Gervonta Davis with PBC, and Shakur Stevenson with Top Rank.
