Is Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk In Jeopardy Again? ‘The Gypsy King’ Relives Nasty Eye Cut

Earlier today, Tyson Fury shared a picture of himself on Instagram, showing two cuts above his right eye—one over and the other below the brow. From his very appearance, it might appear that he has received a fresh injury. The photo has a good chance of sparking fresh fears over the future of his fight against Oleksandr Usyk on May 18. But is it really a fresh injury? As Fury captioned the picture, he is no stranger to such cuts.
Fury’s fight with Usyk on February 17 was postponed after he suffered a sparring injury in early February. So his recent post can lead the fans to believe they may see a further delay. Fury captioned his Instagram post, “Talking about cuts, I’m no stranger to um!“If we recall his 2019 fight with Otto Wallin, it left ‘The Gypsy King’ with a similar gash above the eye as the one he shared on his Instagram post, hinting that the photo is from the aftermath of that fight.

The photograph shows him staring at the camera. Both cuts appear fresh. With dried blood splattered on his face, and him seen gritting his teeth.
Only two days ago, he had shared a fresh update from the training camp. Walking alongside his trainer, Kristian Backlock, Tyson Fury could be heard checking for a rundown on his training. Following his February injury, Fury even had to clarify that it was a legitimate cut during an appearance on the MMA Hour.
A few followers also seemed doubtful whether it was a fresh picture, with most voicing out that it was from the Otto Wallin fight. ‘The Gypsy King’ fought a non-title bout against the Swedish heavyweight on September 14, 2019. He won the match unanimously. However, the clash is famous for the injuries he suffered.
