The boxing world just witnessed the biggest upset in recent history. Devin Haney prevailed against Vasyl Lomachenko and kept his titles, remaining undefeated. However, the result has disappointed quite a lot of boxing fans and experts alike. Even though Haney won via unanimous decision, people are questioning the fairness of the result. After all, Lomachenko dominated during the later parts of the fight. ‘The Matrix’ refused to give his opinion on the decision when asked after the fight. However, his team plans to appeal the decision and claimed that Lomachenko had been ‘robbed’.

Recently, a Facebook page called Real Boxing Knowledge 2 posted a very intriguing question. In the post, it asked, if Devin Haney should give Loma another shot just like Floyd Mayweather gave Chino Maidana & Martin Castillo a rematch. However, Martin Castillo never fought against Floyd Mayweather, we can assume that they meant José Luis Castillo. In the case of Castillo, Mayweather first defeated him in April 2002 via Unanimous decision. Not only that, but he also won the rematch that took place in the same year again by unanimous decision. In Marcos Maidana’s case, Mayweather won the first bout via majority decision. This left some doubt in people’s minds. However, he later defeated Maidana months later via a unanimous decision solidifying his victory.

Fans in response to the question had a lot of responses. While some see no point in the rematch, other fans want Haney to give Loma another chance. There are also some fans who want the fight to take place but think that he should face somebody else before the rematch.
