‘Ramirez Ain’t Gonna Fight Me’ – Teofimo Lopez Rooting for Josh Taylor

Unified lightweight champion Teofimo Lopez feels, Josh Taylor will vanquish Jose Ramirez in an in-ring collision and expressed his desire to face ‘The Tartan Tornado’ somewhere down the line.

Taylor, 17-0, has the WBA and IBF super-lightweight titles. Meanwhile, Ramirez, 26-0, is the WBC and WBO super-lightweight champion. So, it justifies their possible matchup to unify the division. While fans were deprived of this contest in 2020, 2021 could be the year where the duo will fight.

However, neither of them has confirmed it and are still far from signing the contract. That said, boxing fans continue to compare them and predict a possible outcome to their fight. ‘TakeOver’ Lopez is also doing the same, and he bills his support towards the Brit Josh Taylor.

Teofimo Lopez and his father have connected with ES News to provide an opinion on the blockbuster super lightweight clash. While Lopez predicts Taylor to emerge superior, he actually wants to plot his position into the mix.

‘Take Over’ said, “I want Josh Taylor to win. Because Ramirez ain’t gonna fight me, he is going to 147. I still think Josh Taylor will win, he is a better boxer.”

Teofimo Lopez Sr. also said the same, and it seems the father-son duo has some plan with the super-lightweight elites, once the clouds are clear over the Taylor vs Ramirez fight.

What’s next for Teofimo Lopez?

He is currently the undisputed lightweight world champion. However, the division is filled with umpteen A-listers and a lot of them are untested against each other.

Akin to him, Gervonta Davis (WBA champion), Devin Haney (WBC champion), and Ryan Garcia (WBC Interim champion) are also undefeated. So, the lightweight unit can see several matchups happen this year.

Garcia has already called out Davis, and the duo has verbally agreed to fight each other next. Meanwhile, Devin Haney is still out of a fight and Lopez can face him to further advance his dominance in the division.

After that, he can turn his attention towards the super lightweight boxers in Josh Taylor or Jose Ramirez. If either man wants to face Lopez, boxing fans can witness another thriller happen soon.
