Back in August 2015, the world-famous British band One Direction split and left their supporters and fanbase completely dejected. The motive was to focus on individual projects for a while and then make a return together as a group to music. Two months later, the same year, following the breakup of One Direction, ‘Made in the A.M.’ entered the industry and captured a sale of 2.4 million copies in total.

Now, it has been almost seven years since the members of the group parted their ways. And although given the current scenarios, a comeback for One Direction seems next to impossible, fans still stretch their gaze looking out for a hopeful reunion.

Recently, Liam Payne, one of the five members of One Direction, appeared on the ‘Impaulsive Podcast’ and talked about his relationship with the rest of the boys. While talking about his musical journey and current interest in boxing, Payne, at one point in his conversation, opened up about former bandmate Zayn Malik.

Jake Paul and Gigi Hadid’s banter that started it all

Initiated by Logan Paul, Liam Payne talked about Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid on the podcast. Logan Paul narrated his “second-hand experience” with Malik and the 2020 Hadid and Jake Paul banter that went viral on Twitter within a few minutes. On February 22, 2020, Tyson Fury squared off with ‘The Bronze Bomber,’ Deontay Wilder inside the MGM Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas.

Zayn Malik and Jake Paul both attended the event. However, reportedly, when Paul tried interacting with Malik, things went bitter, and later that night, it started a banter between Hadid and Paul on Twitter in front of millions of their fans.

Liam Payne on Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid on Impaulsive alongside Logan Paul

As soon as Logan Paul touched on the topic, Payne took the room by a storm with his exclusive comments.

As the YouTuber brought back the incident, the following is what Liam Payne replied, “She (Gigi Hadid) tweeted something about get yourself a respectful man or something. That one didn’t age very well.”

“There’s many reasons why I dislike Zayn, There’s many reasons why I’ll always, always be on his side. If I had to go through what he went through, through his growth and whatever else,” he added.

“You know your parents are very supportive, my parents are overly supportive to the point where it’s annoying at times. And Zayn had a different upbringing in that sense and you can’t, you can always look at the man for where he is and say, ‘oh, yeah whatever, that guy’s a di#k,’ right? But at the end of the day, once you understand what he’s been through, to get to that point and also whether or not he actually even wanted to be there,” further commented Payne.

After Payne received criticism, following his remarks on Malik, he took to Twitter and spoke directly to his fans about his stance and the event.
