Mike Tyson and Henry Cejudo recently chopped it up with Badou Jack and Amer Abdallah on the Hotboxin’ podcast.
Amer Abdallah pointed out that their team is trying to generate alternate revenue streams outside of boxing as well for Badou Jack. To this, Mike Tyson recommended that the former champion enter the podcasting domain, which could help him create an alternate sustainable income source. To this, ‘Iron’ replied that Badou Jack must be willing to change things up in order to be successful in entrepreneurship.
“When we talk about entrepreneurship, whatever he’s not, he has to be, when we’re talking about business”- on Badou Jack exploring other opportunities like podcasting, outside of boxing.
“Life is about numbers. You’ve got a birth date and you’ve got a death date. In between, you got phone numbers, inmate numbers. Everything’s a number. Time’s a number,” said Mike Tyson.
Mike Tyson’s comeback story
After a decade of wild success from his fights, brand endorsements, and promotions, Mike Tyson filed for bankruptcy in 2003. His financial constraints forced him into fighting two more times through 2004 and 2005. While these fights did not generate huge paydays, they helped the youngest heavyweight champ settle debts and outstanding liabilities.
However, Mike Tyson turned his financial condition around in the next few years. He engaged in brand endorsements, deals, and promotions to help him through his constraints. Apart from these, he made a major chunk of his money from Hollywood.
