It was the discipline while training with Cus D’Amato that ensured this didn’t come as a surprise to anyone who knew him. Recently, on ‘Hotboxin with Mike Tyson’, ‘Iron’ Mike claimed he is still a well-disciplined man.

While interacting with his co-host, Sebastian, and guest Kevin Hart, he said, “Yeah, I get up around four in the morning. I don’t start running and stuff till like five-thirty. I ride the bike and do the treadmill first, then I go out.”

“If you don’t do that, I’m not a nice person if I don’t get that in. Everybody in my house is going through hell. They’re getting it if I don’t get that 2 hours or 3 hours.”

Notably, the highlighted part of his discipline is that he also persuades his family members to follow that. And according to Tyson, it is not less than ‘hell’ for them.

What does Mike Tyson think of Discipline?

In a podcast with renowned UFC commentator Joe Rogan, ‘The Baddest on The Planet’ reflected his school of thought on discipline.

“I don’t care how good you are at anything. You don’t have discipline, you ain’t nobody. You’re nothing without discipline because you give up on the slightest struggle without discipline 100 percent,” said Mike Tyson.

Under the wings of renowned promoter and trainer Cus D’Amato, ‘Kid Dynamite’ became the blueprint of an ideal boxer in his prime. His mad flickers and lethal combinations terrorized the ring for a decade. While that was because of his insane talent, discipline and dedication played a crucial role.
