Boxing legend Muhammad Ali’s grandson Nico Ali Walsh is carrying the legacy of his grandfather after adding another victory to his undefeated record. The 21-year-old recently secured a comfortable UD victory over Eduardo Ayala in their recent bout. Walsh came out with an impressive showing, dominating the proceedings, and enjoying great success in the first round with his right hand.

Moreover, he would continue this pace in the second round dropping Ayala with a right hand. However, Ayala stood up before the ten count and continued the fight despite not having much success in attacking  Walsh. In the end, it would only be a moral victory for Ayala as Walsh made his intentions for the future clear. In addition, he even channelized his inner Conor McGregor, paying homage to the former UFC champ.

Nico Ali Walsh pays homage to Conor McGregor

In a Twitter post, Ali’s grandson quoted one of McGregor’s most famous lines also attaching a video of the knockdown. “We’re not here to take part… Alhamdulillah for another victory! 8-0!!!” he wrote.

The quote “We’re not here to take part, We’re here to take over” was made by ‘The Notorious’ in a post-fight interview back in 2014 after his win over Diego Brandao in Dublin, Ireland. Moreover, this is not the first time Walsh has paid tribute to a prominent personality, once sharing a tribute to Sylvester Stallone while referencing his boxing classic ‘Rocky’.

Th Mcgregor quote has become of the most iconic lines in the history of combat sports. Thus, it was no surprise that Walsh channeled his inner McGregor as he looks to make a name for himself in the sport like his grandfather.
