“At least be, you know, ranked number one, in one of the belts and or have one of the belts by October, you know. That’s the goal. You know, I will be a world champion this year. It’s no more games, not playing. I’m here to take over this division,” he added.

The welterweight division has three champions in total, Yordenis Ugas, Errol Spence Jr., and Terence Crawford.

In a few months from now, Spence Jr. and Ugas will lock horns in a WBA, WBC, and IBF title unification fight. This fight is vital for a further undisputed title bout. That said, the winner of this fight might get to face the WBO champ, Terence Crawford in a massive setting.

In between all this, Ennis will have to play his cards right and look to bag a fight with Crawford.

However, his pathway to reach ‘Bud’ isn’t easy as ‘Boots’ hasn’t vanquished any top welterweight. That said, he’ll have to square off a biggie in the 147-pound landscape before he gets his hands on a title shot. Ennis, 28-0, has a massive opportunity to go ahead and fight for the title.

But everything depends on who he gets to face next.

Who should Jaron Ennis potentially face next?

Considering how Ennis fared in his last few fights, one probable opponent that stands tall to face him next is Vergil Ortiz Jr.

Ortiz Jr. is a fellow young gun who’s looking to earn a title shot. However, he has a fight in line for March 19.
