After a long spell of inactivity, the star boxer Ryan Garcia is going to lock horns on 9 April 2022, with the former IBO lightweight champion Emmanuel Tagoe. The last he fought was against Olympic gold medalist Luke Campbell in January 2021.
Following his bout with Campbell, Garcia suffered a wrist injury during a training session. It resulted in ‘King Ry’ requiring a surgery, which led into a year-long hiatus.

For the uninitiated, ‘The Flash’ took a bold step and made a new start with a new trainer, Joe Goossen, ahead of his comeback fight. This controversial move caught a lot of attention from the boxing world. Because everything was working well with former coach and current Canelo Alvarez‘s trainer Eddy Reynoso.
Now after official critic remarks from both sides have turned into beef. Amid heavy tensions between the Mexican Star and ‘KingRy’, the Hall of Famer Oscar De La Hoya came up with a new settlement to turn this verbal beef into a full-fledged slugfest in the future.

Recently, De La Hoya had an exclusive chat with CBS Sports, where he said, “I don’t know, but I hope it’s a future fight against Canelo and Ryan Garcia in the near future.”
Talking about Canelo, further he added, “It’s different circumstances when I left Bob Arum but I wish [Alvarez] the very best… We are not best of friends, but he is a colleague of mine and I wish him the best. He’s doing for boxing what I did for many years in the past. He’s the guy who has the torch now and I wish him the very best but you never know. Down the road, three years or four years, Ryan Garcia and Canelo at 165. You just never know.” [H/T CBS Sports]

Notably, De La Hoya is the current promoter of Ryan Garcia, the same he used to do for undisputed super-middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez earlier through his promotion named Golden Boy Promotions.
The reason for which Ryan Garcia distanced from Eddy Reynoso
According to former WBC interim lightweight titleholder Ryan Garcia, Reynoso was not paying head towards him. The main reason was that he was too busy with his long-time protégé, Canelo Alvarez.
Blaming Canelo, the 23-year-old took to Twitter and recalled those days from when the seed of dispute was sown.
Canelo doesn’t know the facts, The first camp I had with eddy went great then everything went bad he only showed up two weeks before fonseca fight and that’s when i first asked my manager to talk to him about finding a new trainer. Vergil Ortiz left bc eddy never showed.

In one of his recent Tweets, Garcia wrote, “Canelo doesn’t know the facts, The first camp I had with eddy went great then everything went bad he only showed up two weeks before Fonseca fight and that’s when i first asked my manager to talk to him about finding a new trainer. Vergil Ortiz left bc eddy never showed.”
As of now, ‘The Flash’ has resumed with Hall of Famer Joe Goossen. However, ‘The Golden Boy’ has made a big statement, so there might be a possibility that Ryan Garcia and Canelo Alvarez face each other down the line.
