“Runs His Mouth Too Much”: Gervonta Davis’ Verbal Jabs at Mike Tyson Hit Below the Belt, Sends Fans Into a Frenzy

Ahead of Ryan Garcia vs Gervonta Davis fight, Mike Tyson on being asked if young ‘Tank’ reminded him of himself in boxing, the former Heavyweight champion answered in negative. Immediately after Tyson’s answer, Davis responded by declaring that he has “more skills” than Mike Tyson ever had in boxing. While people admired ‘Tank’ Davis’ boxing skills and performances seen in the ring, his reply has surprised many.

According to a significant number of fans, prime Mike Tyson was way ahead of Gervonta Davis. While Davis, 28, is the current WBA world Lightweight champion, Tyson became the Heavyweight champion of the world by the time he turned twenty. Following Davis’ stern reply to the ‘Kid Dynamite’ of boxing, here is what fans are saying.

Fans disagree as Gervonta Davis claims himself more skillful than Mike Tyson in boxing

After Michael Benson from talkSPORT shared Gervonta’s response via a tweet, several fans of boxing reacted to it. Although some appreciated Davis’ boxing, others strongly disagreed with his claim to have more skills than the ‘Kid Dynamite’ of boxing. According to a user named Landon, fans of Mike Tyson will overnight turn into fans of Ryan Garcia as the latter will face Gervonta Davis.

Meanwhile, Granite Beard Boxing is of the opinion that Tank’s “assessment skills aren’t his strong suit”.

nyc.jakeee feels Davis runs his mouth too much. Although they felt Davis needs to be humbled, they felt Garcia “won’t be the one to do it“.

On the other end, Dom believes it is only the people born after the year 2000 who think Davis has more skills.

However, Scarlett Michanco stated that Tyson accomplished more by the time he turned twenty.

Although Jay likes Gervonta Davis, in their opinion, prime Tyson was “near unbeatable” inside the ring.
