Most recently, in professional boxing, the matter of foremost concern has been the potential fight between Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia. Earlier, Davis and Garcia both occupied the lightweight (up to 135lbs) division.

However, according to ESPN’s divisional ranking, now that Garcia has moved up to the 140lbs junior welterweight, he ranks 6th whereas Davis maintains his 3rd rank in 135. Notably, Garcia has publicly expressed his desire to fight Tank. But keeping his advantages in mind, he felt it was better if the fight was to take place in 140 and not 135.

Floyd Mayweather entirely disagreed and gave Garcia ample arguments on why the fight should not leave the 135lbs weight division where Tank is at his best. Earlier, Mayweather hinted at a rematch with his 2017 rival Conor McGregor from UFC. In addition, Mayweather envisaged Ryan Garcia vs. Gervonta Davis on his and McGregor’s undercard.

Garcia admitted that Mayweather was one of the best to step inside the ring. However, he also felt Money’s comments were harsh and that they disrespected Garcia in a way or two.

The hype about Mayweather is still prevalent in boxing. But for not being an active competitor in pro boxing, and having retired a few years back, Money is surely no more the face of the game, according to Garcia. Hence the question, why should Ryan Garcia, 23, fight on the undercard of Mayweather, 45?

“Again, I respect what you did in the game, but you crossed the line with me. Remember, you could be on my undercard with Tank. Because you’re not Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather anymore. You’re Floyd ‘Old Money’ Mayweather. I’m Ryan ‘The New Money’ Garcia. But, you could just call me King Ryan,” The Flash added.
